Create an Online Will.

If you pass away before your child/children reaches the age of 18 and their other parent survives you, responsibility for your child/children will normally pass to their other surviving parent in most circumstances. If your child/children's other parent does not survive you, you may appoint an Acting Guardian and Alternative Guardian to take responsibility for your children.

Appointment of Guardians

For children under 18, in the event of both parents dying or other circumstances requiring a third party Guardian.

A guardian is a person who you appoint to take legal responsibility for your children if they are under the age of 18 years. Usually a guardian is only appointed if both parents have passed away.

You may appoint an alternate guardian to act if the appointed guardian is unwilling or unable to act.

You may appoint up to 4 executors. Executors are responsible for administering your estate and making sure that the directions in your will are carried out. They are usually family members or trusted friends.

On the subsequent pages, there are specific questions relating to: cash, property and personal specific items to bequest.

You may make gifts of specific dollar amounts to specific people. Such gifts will be paid first from your estate, after which the remainder of your estate will be divided among your chosen beneficiaries. You may give up to 10 cash bequests.

If your beneficiaries are under the age of 18 years then the gift will be held in Trust until they reach the age of 18 years or an older age as chosen by you. If they are over the age of 18 years you may still choose an age as to when they inherit the gift. If you do not choose an age then they will inherit the gift at the age of 18 years.
