Yitong Wang

Lawyer.
Fluent in Chinese Mandarin

A family lawyer with a very strong finance background

Very few family lawyers can boast the financial pedigree that Yitong brings to her clients. With prior experience in accounting and finance, Yitong is adept at helping clients navigate separations with complex financial arrangements.

She prides herself on being able to advise clients who have ownership in private businesses, investment properties, complex trust arrangements and investment portfolios.

Prior to practising exclusively in family law, Yitong worked in a variety of areas of law including advising in migration law, criminal law and civil claims, including obtaining intervention orders against abusive spouses, as well as property conveyancing including transferring properties between spouses, partners and family members.

These are all experiences that now help her clients get well-rounded advice when going through a relationship breakdown.

Multicultural Background - a real advantage for cross jurisdictional litigation

Originally from China, Yitong moved to Melbourne in 2010 and attended the University of Melbourne for her studies in Law, Accounting and Finance. Prior to her tertiary education, she also spent some years in Singapore.

Yitong has a great understanding of Chinese legal processes, business operations and government policies. Her personal and professional experiences have provided her a good understanding of the different cultural and legal practices across Asia and Australia. This, coupled with her NAATI accreditations, has broadened her ability to manage cross-border claims and advise on overseas asset divisions.

A genuine interest in helping people who need advice

Whilst studying, Yitong volunteered as a Case Officer and Division Manager for the Wings Foundation, a not-for-profit that helps overseas students navigate issues with authorities, landlords and businesses.

Her clients describe her as reliable and responsible whilst also being sensitive and understanding of their personal issues. A number of clients have referred to her as a "fixer" and someone that just takes care of everything - so that they can get on with their lives.

These combined traits and experience make for one incredible family lawyer.
