Robinson Gill securely holds original documents, such as Wills, Powers of Attorney, Certificates of Title and other important legal documents for individuals, trusts and companies.
Our clients’ privacy and documentation are very important to us, therefore to safe guard the confidential and security of the documents held in our safe custody, we have procedures that we follow before being able to provide clients, family members and other law firms with information and documents held in our safe custody.

How to Request for Documents held in Robinson Gill's safe custody.
To request the release of a document or to request a copy of a document from our safe custody, we kindly ask that you follow the following steps:
Step 1
Download, print and complete our Request for Release of Documents form.
Step 2
Obtain a certified copy of a form of photographic identification for example a passport, driver licence or proof of age card.
A ‘certified copy’ means a photocopy of an original document that is endorsed or certified to be a true copy of the original.
Only authorised people can certify an original document, such as a GP, pharmacist, Police officer or Justice of the Peace. For more information on what a certified copy is and who can certify a copy, please visit the Victorian Government Certified copies of original documents website here.
Step 3
Email your completed and signed Request for Release of Documents form and a copy of your certified photographic identification to safecustody@robinsongill.com.au
Alternatively, you can post your completed and signed Request for Release of Documents form and a copy of your certified photographic identification to P.O BOX 140, Box Hill, VIC 3128.
If you do not have a form of photographic identification, please let us know in your email.
We will then review your form and identification and respond to your enquiry within 7 business days from the date of your email. Please allow for extra time for posted requests to allow for transit of the documents.
Please be aware that an incomplete form and uncertified identification can lead to a delay in completing your request.

You can also attend personally at our office, during our business hours, to give us your completed documents and identification.
Storing your Documents with Robinson Gill.
If you lose your original Will, Powers of Attorney, Certificate of the Title or other original document, it can be costly to lost documents, whether it be a Will, Power of Attorney, Certificate of Titles, a Trust Deed or another important document.
To ensure your peace of mind you can store these important documents at our office.
There is no charge for Robinson Gill to retain your documentation in safe custody, and the documents are held in a secure and fire-resistant safe at our office. There is no cost for providing a copy of your documents to you upon request.
Only the owner of the documents can request that their original documents are stored in safe custody at Robinson Gill.
If you want Robinson Gill to store your original documents, we kindly ask that you follow the following steps:
