Ella is a lawyer in our police misconduct team. She brings her extensive understanding of Victoria’s court system to representing victims of abuse by the police.
An intimate knowledge of the Victorian court system
Ella’s background working within the Victorian court system gives her valuable insight into the processes to hold police accountable for misconduct. As an Associate to Her Honour Justice Tsalamandris, in both the County and Supreme Courts, Ella understands how to navigate the court processes to achieve justice and compensation for victims of police abuse.
With her experience and keen legal mind, Ella understands the importance of following procedural rules, carefully managing evidence, and preparing submissions. Ella also liaises confidently and effectively with parties to litigation, lawyers, and judicial members.
Creating opportunities for empowerment
Ella embraces the challenge of representing the victims of police abuse as this work aligns with her strongly held values of justice and empowering those who may find themselves voiceless.
A passion for empowering those in her community is evident from Ella’s work with MUswim where she developed a program to enable linguistically diverse women to participate in swimming lessons in a culturally sensitive and safe environment.
